Role Overview
The Government Tender Lead will drive the company's public sector business across North India,owning:
- Tender identification
- Pre-bid engagement
- Relationship building with key government stakeholders
- PQ documentation strategy
- Bid management
- Commercial closure
- Account growth post-award
You will represent the company in government departments, municipal corporations, water boards, and related agencies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government Relationship Building
- Leverage existing core government connections
- Develop strong working relationships across departments
- Engage consistently in field presence and in-person meetings
- Build trust in high-value, long-cycle government transactions
2. Tender & Bid Strategy
- Identify relevant tenders and upcoming opportunities
- Strategize pre-qualification (PQ) documentation
- Work closely with technical and operations teams for bid submissions
- Bring creativity and clarity in language positioning
3. Solution Selling
- Understand and articulate technical IoT-enabled water solutions
- Translate technical offerings into policy and compliance value
- Engage in consultative solution selling rather than transactional bidding
4. Revenue Ownership
- Own revenue targets for the North government segment
- Manage long sales cycles with structured follow-ups
- Convert awarded projects into long-term recurring accounts
Required Qualifications & Skills
Must Haves:
- 10–15+ years of experience in government/infrastructure/public sector sales
- Strong, demonstrable network within North India government bodies
- Proven experience in handling tenders and PQ processes
- High integrity and financial trustworthiness
- Willingness to be hands-on in first 6 months
- High travel readiness (extensive field presence required)
- Strong grasp of technical solution selling
- Ability to handle complex stakeholder ecosystems
Preferred:
- Experience in water, wastewater, infra-tech, or IoT
- Age range: 35–45 preferred (given stakeholder alignment maturity)
