Embedded Firmware Engineer


Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct requirement analysis and creation of functional requirement specification for new derivative products or new features in an existing product.
  2. Involve in embedded design documentation, coding, unit test and integration testing.
  3. Design/Development of firmware in C/C++ for timing critical, interrupt-based applications and evaluation report generation using lab equipment (i.e. logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) to ensure functionality
  4. Design/Development of firmware in C/C++ for testing and evaluating durability of components
  5. Design/Development of firmware in C/C++on resource-constrained, embedded systems
  6. Work closely with other engineering teams, partners and vendors to gather inputs and ensure the right implementation and interoperability/reusability.
  7. Ability to understand and follow engineering processes such as SCRUM, version control, and bug management.
  8. Conduct FW impact analysis to ensure all of existing features are functional with new proposed change(s).
  9. Multitasking between the new product development and the sustenance activities of all existing products
  10. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure the quality of work products


Requirements:

  1. Strong software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design
  2. Should have strong programming skills in Embedded C and Knowledgeable in C++
  3. Knowledge of using interfacing communication protocols such as USB, UART, SPI, I2C, Timers, PWM, WDT, CAN interfacing
  4. Experience with Cortex M4 or equivalent
  5. Experience in timing critical, interrupt-based design, power and memory optimization
  6. Ability to read datasheet, schematics, design simple digital and analog circuits
  7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to self-learn
  8. Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision


Good to Have:

  1. Good working experience in Multi-threaded programming, RTOS, IPC
  2. Knowledge of bootloaders
  3. Knowledge of TCP IP, UDP
  4. Working experience on Industrial protocols like Modbus is preferred
  5. Experience in wireless technology Zigbee, BLE, LTEM is preferred
  6. Experience in functional safety development in the firmware. Awareness on functional safety standards. Preferably Functional Safety certified.
  7. Experience with Board bring-up activities is preferred
  8. Familiarity with Atmel Studio, Kiel, CubeMX
  9. Experience with multi OS Linux/Windows


Eligible candidates:

  1. Education: B.E. / B. Tech / M.E. / M. Tech/ M.S. in Electronics or equivalent relevant work experience.
  2. Work Experience: 3-7 years of experience
