🚁 Position Overview


To build and run a scalable, execution-focused finance function that transitions Thryve from a managed service model to an in-house, systems-driven finance operation. You will not only be working directly with various team members within the finance function, and others for managing the finances of projects and the company, but also collaborating directly with the co-founders.


• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.

• Strong expertise in Indian taxation, including GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting.

• Hands-on experience with foreign exchange regulations, cross-border transactions, and FEMA compliance.

• Proven ability to manage financial controls, audits, cash flow, budgeting, and management reporting.

• Experience working in startup, multi-entity, or project-driven environments is preferred.

• Strong systems orientation with experience in ERP/accounting platforms such as Zoho, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar tools.

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to dynamic environments and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.


📝 Responsibilities


1. Financial Control and Governance


Own monthly close, management reporting, and variance analysis


Ensure compliance with Indian regulations, including GST, TDS, and corporate filings


Maintain audit-ready books with strong documentation and controls


Interface with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities


2. Project Finance and Cash Flow Oversight


Monitor project-level budgets, burn rates, and fund utilization across SPVs


Track receivables, payables, and working capital cycles


Build and manage cash flow forecasts at entity and consolidated levels


Ensure proper allocation of costs across projects, entities, and geographies


3. Systems and Process Design (AI-first)


Design and implement automated workflows for expenses, reimbursements, and approvals


Integrate finance processes across tools (Zoho, Clockify, banking, etc.)


Reduce manual intervention through AI-driven data capture and validation


Own finance SOPs aligned with ISO-style documentation and audit requirements


4. Stakeholder and Board Reporting


Prepare structured MIS, investor reports, and board decks


Support fundraising with financial models, data rooms, and diligence responses


Provide insights on financial performance and strategic decisions


5. Team Building and Oversight


Recruit, train, and manage project controllers/account executives


Establish performance metrics and review mechanisms


Drive accountability, accuracy, and timeliness across the finance function


🎓 Qualifications and Skills


Required


5 to 8 years of experience in finance, preferably in startups, project-driven businesses, or multi-entity environments


Strong understanding of Indian tax and compliance framework


Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Zoho, Odoo)


Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch


Strong team player with a collaborative approach, fostering synergy across diverse global teams in dynamic environments


Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field


Preferred


CA / CPA / equivalent qualification


Exposure to cross-border structures (Singapore, Indonesia, India)


An understanding of Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian jurisdictions’ tax and compliance frameworks is a plus


Experience in project finance, sustainability, or carbon markets


Familiarity with automation tools, APIs, or AI-enabled finance workflows
