Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Controls Engineer to develop, commission, and troubleshoot industrial automation machines. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in machine control systems, PLC programming, servo motion, electrical debugging, and machine commissioning.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working on the shop floor, diagnosing machine issues, debugging control panels, modifying PLC logic, and ensuring machines operate safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Control & Commissioning
- Develop, modify, and debug control logic for industrial automation machines.
- Implement machine sequences including:
- Start/Stop
- Reset
- Homing
- Jogging
- Manual Mode
- Auto Cycle
- Fault Handling & Recovery
- Commission machines and troubleshoot hardware issues on the shop floor.
- Debug PLC logic, sensors, actuators, servo drives, VFDs, and I/O systems.
- Ensure reliable operation in manual, semi-automatic, and automatic modes.
Motion Control
- Configure and troubleshoot:
- Servo Motors
- Stepper Motors
- VFDs
- Encoders
- Limit Switches
- Home Sensors
- Proximity Sensors
- Implement and optimize:
- Homing
- Position Control
- Velocity Control
- Indexing
- Jogging
- Multi-axis synchronized motion
- Tune servo drives for improved repeatability and reduced cycle time.
- Diagnose motion-related issues including:

- Support automation systems such as:
- Cartesian Robots
- Pick & Place Machines
- Conveyors

PLC & Control Logic
- Develop and modify PLC programs using:
- Ladder Logic
- Structured Text
- Function Block
- Implement:
- Machine Interlocks
- Alarms
- Timers
- Counters
- State Logic
- Fault Recovery
- Work with industrial communication protocols including:
- EtherCAT
- Modbus TCP
- Ethernet/IP

- Integrate drives, remote I/O modules, sensors, pneumatic valves, conveyors, weighing systems, and VFDs.
- Maintain clean I/O mapping and machine documentation.

- Ensure predictable machine behavior during:
- Power-Up
- Reset
- Pause

- Improve machine reliability by identifying and resolving practical failure modes.
- Support FAT, installation, commissioning, and field service activities.
Required Skills
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in Industrial Automation or Machine Control.

- Experience guiding junior engineers during commissioning.
