About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented, and highly driven professional to join the Founder’s Office in Gurgaon. This role is ideal for a candidate who is preferably a qualified lawyer or has a strong legal background, with prior experience in an M&A consulting firm, transaction advisory, corporate advisory, strategy consulting, or a similar deal-focused environment.
The candidate will work closely with the Founder on strategic initiatives, business expansion, partnerships, investments, transactions, governance, and high-priority cross-functional projects. This is a high-impact role that requires strong judgment, analytical ability, commercial understanding, legal awareness, and excellent execution skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Projects
- Work directly with the Founder on business-critical projects, including growth strategy, new initiatives, business expansion, partnerships, fundraising, and inorganic opportunities.
- Prepare research notes, investment memos, business cases, strategy documents, board materials, and decision notes.
- Track execution of key initiatives across teams and ensure timely follow-through.
- Convert strategic discussions into clear action plans with ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Support the Founder in evaluating new markets, business models, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities.
Legal, Commercial & Transaction Support
- Support M&A, investment, fundraising, joint venture, and strategic partnership discussions.
- Review and coordinate legal and commercial documents such as term sheets, shareholder agreements, investment documents, NDAs, vendor contracts, commercial agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Work with external legal counsel, consultants, investors, bankers, and advisors.
- Assist in due diligence, deal structuring, documentation, negotiation support, and transaction closure.
- Identify key legal, commercial, financial, and operational risks in transactions and strategic initiatives.
Business & Financial Analysis
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, industry benchmarking, and business feasibility studies.
- Analyze financial, legal, operational, and market data to support strategic decision-making.
- Build or review financial models, valuation notes, business plans, transaction summaries, and investor-facing materials where required.
- Prepare concise summaries and recommendations for the Founder based on data, research, and stakeholder inputs.
Founder Support & Execution
- Act as an extension of the Founder in coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Manage high-priority communication, meeting preparation, follow-ups, and project tracking.
- Work across functions such as finance, legal, operations, sales, product, marketing, and HR to drive execution.
- Ensure that important decisions, discussions, and action items are properly documented and followed through.
- Help the Founder prioritize key initiatives and maintain visibility on progress, blockers, and risks.
Governance, Compliance & Documentation
- Support corporate governance, regulatory, compliance, and policy-related initiatives.
- Coordinate board, investor, and stakeholder reporting where needed.
- Maintain proper documentation for strategic projects, transactions, contracts, and key business decisions.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and governance standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer or law graduate preferred.
- Prior experience in M&A consulting, transaction advisory, corporate law, investment banking, management consulting, founder’s office, or corporate strategy roles.
- Strong understanding of corporate transactions, commercial contracts, legal documentation, due diligence, and business strategy.
- Ability to combine legal thinking with commercial judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, founder-led environment.
- High ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with senior leadership, advisors, investors, and external partners.
- Discreet, trustworthy, and capable of handling confidential information.
Preferred Background
Candidates from the following backgrounds would be highly suitable:
- Corporate lawyer with M&A, private equity, venture capital, commercial contracts, or transaction experience.
- Consultant from an M&A consulting, transaction advisory, due diligence, corporate finance, or strategy consulting firm.
- Professional who has worked closely with founders, CEOs, investors, promoters, or boards on strategic initiatives.
- Experience with startups, high-growth companies, investment firms, family offices, or founder-led businesses would be an advantage.
