Candidates should have experience in the Financial Services, Banking, NBFC, or Investment Banking domain.

Department: Merchant Banking – IPO & PE Sales

Reporting To: Business Development Head

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior consultative sales role — not transactional sales. You will engage with promoters, CFOs, and founders of growth-stage companies seeking access to capital markets or private equity fundraising. Your responsibility is to deeply understand a client's business, financial position, and strategic objectives, and then recommend the most appropriate capital markets solution — whether an IPO, a pre-IPO PE round, or an AIF investment.

This role requires strong financial acumen, boardroom-level communication skills, and the ability to manage long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with credibility and discipline.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Corporate Partnership Development

  1. Identify, approach, and build structured partnerships with financial consultants, CA firms, investment bankers, and advisory intermediaries who can originate corporate deal flow.
  2. Own the complete partnership lifecycle, including prospecting, proposal creation, commercial negotiations, deal structuring, and closure.
  3. Build and manage a pipeline of mid-to-late-stage companies evaluating IPOs, pre-IPO PE fundraising, or AIF participation.

Consultative Client Engagement

  1. Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions with promoters, CFOs, and CXOs to understand their business model, financial health, capital requirements, and growth trajectory.
  2. Translate client needs into tailored capital markets solutions, recommending the most suitable instrument (IPO, pre-IPO PE, or AIF) based on stage, scale, and strategic objectives.
  3. Lead and own mid-to-late-stage deal discussions, driving opportunities from proposal stage to mandate signing with confidence and clarity.
  4. Collaborate closely with advisory and execution teams to ensure a smooth client handoff, onboarding process, and mandate execution.

Relationship Management & Revenue Growth

  1. Build and nurture long-term relationships with mandated clients and intermediary partners, positioning Getfive as their preferred merchant banking partner for future transactions.
  2. Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the firm's service portfolio.
  3. Be available for travel to client locations, industry events, and partner meetings across key business centers.

Sales Operations & Reporting

  1. Track deal progression rigorously through CRM systems, ensuring pipeline hygiene, stage accuracy, and reliable closure forecasting.
  2. Provide structured updates to leadership on pipeline health, conversion metrics, and partner activity.

WHO YOU ARE

You bring 5–6 years of experience in B2B or institutional sales — not selling products, but advising businesses on complex financial decisions. You understand that winning a corporate mandate requires patience, credibility, and a genuine understanding of a client's business rather than product-driven selling.

  1. You have worked directly with CXOs, promoters, and CFOs, and are comfortable engaging in boardroom-level discussions.
  2. You possess a solid understanding of corporate finance fundamentals, including valuations, fundraising mechanics, equity structures, and capital market instruments.
  3. You have independently originated and closed mid-to-high-value B2B mandates.
  4. You know how to differentiate between clients who need education and those who require urgency, and can effectively manage both situations.
  5. You are highly process-oriented, maintain CRM discipline, and ensure no qualified opportunity is neglected.
  6. You hold an MBA in Finance & Marketing (or equivalent).

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. MBA in Finance and Marketing (mandatory).
  2. 5–6 years of experience in transaction advisory, investment banking sales, institutional/corporate B2B sales, or consulting sales.
  3. Proven track record of independently originating and closing mid-to-high-value corporate mandates.
  4. Strong understanding of merchant banking, IPO processes, PE fundraising, and financial advisory models.
  5. Hands-on experience with CRM platforms and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  6. Open to regular travel for client engagements and partner meetings.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This role is not suitable for candidates from retail financial sales backgrounds such as loans, credit cards, mutual funds, insurance, or other B2C-focused environments. If your sales experience primarily involves individual consumers rather than corporate decision-makers, this role may not be the right fit. We are looking for professionals who can sell ideas, strategy, and financial solutions to boardrooms — not products to individuals.
