Asst. Manager / Senior Associate - Business Development

Reports To: Sr. Manager- Marketplace

Location: Remote (Reporting offices in Chennai & Bangalore, candidate will report remotely)

Preferred candidate location: Delhi NCR and surrounding regions

Note: This role involves travelling as per business requirements.

Key Responsibilities


1.Market Research & Strategy

● Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential stakeholders such as recyclers, suppliers, industries, and new geographic areas for expansion.

● Lead market studies for procurement and sales of raw materials, with a focus on plastics such as PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP, HIPS, ABS, etc.

● Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to formulate effective business strategies.


2.Business Development & Commercials

● Lead negotiations with Aggregators/Balers and Recyclers to finalise commercial terms, pricing, and agreements.

● Achieve procurement and sales targets within defined timelines and cost parameters.

● Build and nurture long-term stakeholder partnerships aligned with ethical sourcing standards.


3.Sourcing & Fulfillment

● Coordinate closely with suppliers, recyclers, and internal operations teams to ensure timely collections and material movement.

● Coordinate for collections and payables with recyclers and suppliers


4.Compliance & Governance

● Ensure all sourcing activities comply with applicable waste management regulations and environmental standards.

● Drive the conversion and onboarding of suppliers to meet WFTO compliance in line with ethical sourcing framework.


5.Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Collaborate with operations, logistics, finance, and tech teams to ensure efficient service delivery.

● Support implementation of process improvements and technology adoption across the marketplace.


Experience and Qualifications

Qualification: Graduate

Experience: 3+ years in the Plastics, Sustainability, Waste management, recycling or any other related field.
