General Manager – Procurement

Experience

1. 15–20+ years of experience in Procurement/Purchase.
2. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a General Manager / Head Procurement role within a manufacturing environment.

Qualification

1. MBA in Operations / Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

1. Must have procurement experience in the Plastics Manufacturing / Rigid Plastic Packaging Manufacturing industry.
2. Must have hands-on sourcing experience of HDPE, PP, LDPE, PET Granules, Masterbatches, Additives, Cartons, Labels, Polybags, Metal Items, and other Indirect Materials.
3. Must have experience leading procurement teams.
4. Must have experience managing procurement operations across multiple manufacturing units (preferably around 10 plants).
5. Must have strong vendor management, supplier development, and contract negotiation experience.
6. Must have managed large procurement budgets for organizations with an annual turnover INR 500 cr+.
7. Must have a deep understanding of procurement categories, sourcing strategies, and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute procurement strategies for Opex categories.
2. Lead contract negotiations, ensuring optimal pricing, service levels, and compliance with company policies.
3. Develop, manage, and strengthen supplier/vendor relationships to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met.
4. Monitor and report key KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
5. Ensure compliance with all internal controls, governance, and regulatory requirements.
6. Lead and mentor a high-performing procurement team.
7. Manage procurement activities across multiple manufacturing units.
8. Handle large-scale procurement budgets and drive cost optimization initiatives.
9. Utilize procurement ERP systems (SAP) and sourcing tools for effective procurement management.
