Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to manage product costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in manufacturing costing, variance analysis, ERP systems, and cost control processes. The role requires close coordination with production, procurement, finance, and operations teams to improve profitability and ensure accurate cost reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Costing & Cost Analysis
- Maintain and update standard cost models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routing structures.
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify cost variances and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct product costing for existing and new products.
- Monitor inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods costing.
- Perform cost audits and recommend cost optimization initiatives.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and periodic cost reports for management.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to costing and inventory.
- Maintain accurate cost records within ERP systems.
- Perform reconciliation of cost accounts and analyze manufacturing variances.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and cost forecasts.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and operations teams to monitor cost drivers.
- Support cost-control initiatives and performance tracking.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Support internal and statutory audits by providing required costing documentation.
- Develop and strengthen costing systems, internal controls, and reporting processes.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Cost Accounting principles.
- Experience in manufacturing cost analysis and inventory accounting.
- Expertise in BOM, standard costing, WIP, and variance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- CMA / ICWA qualified.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, procurement, and finance teams.
- Strong attention to detail and process improvement mindset.
