Senior Manager / AVP – Direct Fund Raising

Location: Chakala, Andheri East, Mumbai

Experience: 7 to 10 years

Qualification: Postgraduate mandatory

Function: Direct Fund Raising | Business Development | AUM Growth | Alternative Investments

About the Role

We are seeking a senior, relationship-driven direct fund raising professional to lead direct investor acquisition and capital mobilisation for an alternative investment platform focused on structured credit, high-yield debt, and real estate-linked investment opportunities.

The role requires strong relationships within the HNI, UHNI, or family-office ecosystem, and the investment knowledge required to engage sophisticated investors on strategy, risk, returns, portfolio construction, and due diligence.

The selected candidate will be responsible for building a direct investor acquisition engine, managing high-value investor relationships, and driving AUM growth through direct capital mobilisation.

Direct Investor Segments

  1. HNIs
  2. UHNIs
  3. Single Family Offices
  4. Multi-Family Offices
  5. Corporate and Institutional Investors
  6. Sophisticated and Accredited Investors
  7. First-time direct investors
  8. Re-investing and referred direct investors

Key Responsibilities

A. Direct Investor Acquisition & Prospecting

  1. Build a curated pipeline of HNI, UHNI, and family-office prospects through personal network activation, targeted introductions, strategic referrals, and proactive outreach.
  2. Qualify prospects by investment appetite, risk profile, liquidity position, ticket size, and alignment with structured credit and alternative investment strategies.
  3. Execute a segmented acquisition strategy across HNI, UHNI, family office, and corporate investor categories.
  4. Manage the full acquisition lifecycle including initial contact, investment presentation, due diligence support, documentation, and capital closure.
  5. Maintain a well-forecasted direct investor pipeline with regular updates to leadership on status, conversion timelines, and expected AUM closures.

B. HNI & UHNI Direct Investor Engagement

  1. Engage HNI and UHNI investors through one-on-one meetings, bespoke presentations, portfolio discussions, and exclusive investor events.
  2. Conduct tailored investment presentations covering investment philosophy, structured credit strategy, risk framework, underwriting discipline, collateral quality, and return profile.
  3. Manage investor objections, due diligence queries, and documentation requirements with accuracy and professionalism.
  4. Identify reinvestment, incremental capital, and referral opportunities within the existing investor base.
  5. Work closely with internal investor relations and investment teams to convert opportunities into additional AUM.

C. Family Office Acquisition & Management

  1. Identify and develop relationships with single and multi-family office principals, investment committees, advisors, and gatekeepers across Mumbai and key metros.
  2. Understand each family office’s mandate, governance structure, risk appetite, liquidity preference, and decision-making process.
  3. Deliver investment-committee-grade presentations covering portfolio construction, credit risk, collateral framework, track record, and investment thesis.
  4. Position the platform as a trusted recurring alternative investment partner rather than a one-time product provider.
  5. Coordinate internally to ensure onboarding, reporting, documentation, and servicing meet the expectations of family-office investors.

D. Direct Fund Raising & Capital Mobilisation

  1. Drive and consistently achieve direct investor AUM and fund raising targets across HNI, UHNI, and family-office segments.
  2. Execute direct investor engagement strategies through in-person meetings, exclusive roundtables, investment seminars, and curated networking events.
  3. Develop bespoke investment proposals, due diligence packages, and investor communication material with the investment and investor relations teams.
  4. Lead investor site visits, management meetings, and co-investment discussions to support capital commitment decisions.
  5. Represent the platform at HNI/UHNI forums, family-office summits, private wealth conferences, and relevant networking events.

E. Investor Communication & Market Intelligence

  1. Provide proactive communication to prospects and committed investors covering market context, fund performance, pipeline updates, portfolio developments, and regulatory changes.
  2. Stay current with alternative investment trends, real estate credit dynamics, macroeconomic developments, and competitor activity.
  3. Gather investor sentiment and market intelligence to support fund positioning and product strategy.
  4. Ensure seamless handover of committed investors to the investor relations team while maintaining relationship continuity post-investment.
